2018 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

An exciting introduction to the Pinot Noir story at Ram’s Gate, the 2018 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast presents a launching point into our slow march to the ocean. After several years of developing the core of this wine, the 2018 introduces new parcels into the blend from the Petaluma Gap - which is a cool part of the southern portion of the Sonoma Coast, along with a touch of Russian River to provide depth and intensity.
Red currants, kirsch, blood orange and hibiscus make the nose extremely inviting. Hints of rhubarb, rose petal, and star-anise add complexity to the nose as the wine opens and invites you in. The hallmark of this wine’s palate is texture and verve. Dark red fruit on the palate and coastal influences of forest floor and holiday spice transition the wine into a refreshingly complex wine.
