2020 Syrah, Hyde Vineyard

The 2020 vintage marked the beginning of a three-year drought. This resulted in crop yields that were about 56% smaller than average, yet yielded highly concentrated fruit, which in turn produced a dynamic and expressive wine.

Due to the reduced crop size and with nine years of experience in this vineyard, we adjusted the fermentation process, using slightly less whole-cluster. The result is an aromatic bouquet brimming with violets, fig jam, and savory notes of white pepper and braised short ribs.

On the palate, the wine continues to impress, boasting naturally bright acidity that drives a lengthy and full finish. This will gracefully mature for 10+ years, so savor it now or rediscover its evolution in your cellar years from now.
