2022 Pinot Noir, El Diablo Vineyard

The 2022 vintage from El Diablo Vineyard is a vivid expression of its’ dramatic north-facing slope along Eastside Road, a site that consistently delivers both elegance and intensity. With over a decadeof vine maturity and a growing season marked by warmth and low yields, this vintage captures the vineyard’s signature depth whileoffering a brighter, more aromatic lift.

On the nose, the wine opens with vibrant notes of red apple skin, black cherry cordial, and a touch of Angostura bitters, underpinned by hints of clove, cedar, and dried rose. A portion of whole-cluster fermentation within the Vosne-Romane portion of the blend contributes a layered complexity, adding spice and structure.

The palate is plush and youthful, driven by strawberry preserves, spiced plum, and a whisper of black tea. There’s a tension between richness and freshness—fine-grained tannins give it shape, while avein of acidity carries the wine to a focused, full finish.
