Tasting Notes

The premier release from the Ram’s Gate Estate Faultline Vineyard is our own clonal selection, a composition of five unique clones co-harvested and co-fermented before aging eleven months in French oak. Its unassuming, graceful personality showcases complementary aspects of the grape’s varietal character, from perfumed Musqué aromas to classic stone fruit notes from the Wente and Dijon clones. On the nose, honeysuckle and barely ripe lychee carry to the palate, where the fruit takes center stage alongside a saline, mineral character. The full-bodied yet understated wine finishes cleanly and distinctly. Aged 11 months in 50% new French oak; 298 cases made.
