“The 2015 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard is pale to medium ruby-purple in color with notes of kirsch, pomegranate and raspberry tart with touches of mossy bark and oolong tea. Medium-bodied with a very firm frame of grainy tannins and lively acid, it has wonderfully intense, impactful red fruit, finishing on a lingering earthy note. 132 cases produced." – Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, April 2018

"From a site high above Green Valley, typically above the fog and in view of the ocean, this is a spicy, forested and savory wine, textured like nobody's business. Rhubarb, cranberry and wild strawberry attempt to intrude, and do quietly, but it's the cardamom and white pepper that persist most emphatically."

"This property is managed by Ulises Valdez. Located in the Green Valley of Russian River Valley region, the vines were planted in 2007 near the town of Occidental just 6 miles from the coast. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Appealing perfume of cherry, allspice, and earthy flora. A complete wine with luscious black cherry and black raspberry fruit flavors that strike an impression. The fruit is infused with exotic spices that hold interest. Bold on the attack, lengthy in the mouth, and finishing with purpose and generosity."

Tasting Notes

Always a unique wine due to the vineyard’s position above the Russian River Valley fog line, the 2015 Silver Eagle Vineyard Pinot Noir shows an exceptional amount of blackberry bramble along with the wine’s perennial flavors of morel mushroom and mossy earth. Silky cocoa tannins and rich dark fruit begin as aromas and carry through the wine’s long, seamless finish.
